The computer or language learning “lab” has been a staple of language learning for half a century or more. Students sitting in cubicles with headphones and listen and repeat or do language exercises. At least that was how it used to be.
Many schools are using labs more innovatively. But now with the advent of the phone and the powerful affordances it brings …. is the language lab going to go extinct?
